*** Update 23/06/21 – 15 x Chromebooks issued ***
We have received unprecedented demand and the Chromebooks set aside by the Committee on a ‘first come, first served’ basis have now been claimed and allocated.
However, the Committee of Management have decided that 10 should be set aside specifically for those tenants identified as being most in need with digital inclusion. As such, over the coming week or so, our tenant sustainment officer will contact tenants asking if they would like to benefit from the use of a Chromebook. Once this task is completed, if there are any left, we will re-advertise on the website.
Chromebooks were acquired via the Community Recovery Fund provided by the Scottish Government, WGHC worked in partnership with other, local, RSLs from the ARCHIE alliance in order to secure funding to provide some Chromebooks to tenants who might otherwise be ‘digitally excluded’.
Note * Recipients of a Chromebook were required to sign an agreement with regard to the expected use of the equipment confirming they will not be used to view illegal, inappropriate or harmful content. Proof of tenancy will be required before release. The Chromebooks are provided without warranty or recourse to WGHC. Equally, they must not be sold.
